What every gene name means
Every listing on the Exchange tags its genes. This is the plain-language guide to reading them — what each morph looks like and how it's inherited. It's the basics; the full encyclopedia, combos and het math live in Codex.
How morphs are inherited
Recessive
Needs two copies to show. One copy is a hidden 'het' carrier — visually normal, but it passes the gene on.
Incomplete dominant
Shows with one copy, and shows differently with two (the 'super' form). Commonly — if loosely — called 'co-dom' in the hobby.
Dominant
Shows with one copy and looks the same with two — there's no distinct super form.
Polygenic
Built by selectively breeding many small genes over generations, not a single switch. Results vary by line.

Big, intelligent, and increasingly designer. Alongside colour and pattern genes, retics carry dwarf and super-dwarf localities that cap adult size — a key thing to read before you buy.

Hardy New-World boas with a clean, well-understood genetics toolkit. We're still expanding this list.
Corn Snake
Pantherophis guttatus
The classic beginner's morph species — almost everything is simple recessive, which makes the genetics easy to learn. More combos being added.
Western Hognose
Heterodon nasicus
Small, charismatic, and quickly building a morph market of its own. Early days for this list — more on the way.
